Searching Assets & Viewing Details

The ability to search for assets is a crucial piece of functionality within your WillowTwin™ for Rail platform. Aggregating disparate data for these assets sets provides a single source of information in real-time for all users. Combining live, static and spatial data here can help improve proactive maintenance, more accurate real-time reporting, and improved planning.

Users can use the asset tree to view the current status of equipment, prepare for upcoming maintenance, and track the historical work orders that may have been associated with an asset.

NOTE: if you have selected an Area from the drop-down in the main menu bar, this will filter the assets to only those in the selected area.

Searching for Assets

  1. Begin by navigating to the Assets > Assets sub-tab
  2. From the Categories tab on the left, click on a folder to expand the selection, this will list any associated sub category folders
  3. Clicking a sub category folder will then display the list of associated assets in an Assets tab just below
    1. Depending on the number of assets that have been loaded into the twin, users can scroll through the list or use the Search field at the top of the asset list to further narrow the list. Additional options for users is the ability to:
      1. Sort the asset list by clicking the up or down arrows beside the column headings: Geo, Asset, Location and Status
      2. View more or less assets in the list by adjusting the height of the Assets list by hovering over and clicking the grab bar (line) between the Categories and Assets tabs

Viewing Asset Details

When an asset is selected, the map view will zoom in and center over the asset, and a details window will open in the bottom half of the map with additional options.

The amount of information that is accessible in the window below the map will vary depending on the asset that was selected. At a minimum, users will see a Details tab, which can include information such as:

  • Name
  • Category
  • Description
  • Location information
