Map Filtering

The WillowTwin™ for Rail platform provides a unique view of your rail network and allows users the ability to quickly enable and overlay views of important information over your network, such as: track geometry and rail wear, defects, temporary speed restrictions, curves, steel types, and more, which can then be used for quick analysis and critical decision making.

This data and layer information can be toggled on or off from the map filter buttons just below the menu bar in the top right corner of the map.

Map Filters

The Map Filters button provides users the ability to overlay a variety of layers of information over the network displayed on the base map. This information can include information pertaining to asset types, events that may affect network operation (TSRs and Defects), measurements relating to track geometry and rail wear, ticketing and more. These filter options are divided into 2 groups, Time-Bound Layers and More Layers

  • Time-bound layers allow the user to specify the data they wish to view by selecting a date range for the data to be viewed, as well as options to further filter the data. Examples of these layers could include: defects, TSRs, rail wear, steel types, etc.
  • More layers provide users the ability to overlay additional information which could include: the location of tickets, assets, structures, access points and other important reference layers; typically there are no additional filter options for these types of layers
Its important to note that the layers users will see in the platform will vary depending on your implementation and the data being brought into the platform.
